Next Summer I will be swimming from the Farallon Islands to Aquatic Park in San Francisco, a distance of 30+ miles. A feat that has never been accomplished by a female and "I am just the girl for the job"

Author: After another postponement of my sea buoy swim, tomorrow will be my final attempt. On Sunday, 6/13, come rain or shine, wind or waves, we will be going out for my final training swim. We need to get this done! Once again the weather will not completely be cooperating with us but we are going to go for it anyway. The water temperature is dropping and as soon as the wind starts to subside the fog will start to set in. Wind and fog will be two of the challenges in planning and completing a swim from the Farallones.
I find myself staring at the Farallones cam for hours lately. Check it out
After 7 am tomorrow you will be able to track me live via my SPOT GPS. If I have enough crew members on board tomorrow, we will be working on sending out updates on my website, FB page and Twitter.

Just wanted to wish you good luck in your swim. I’m the tourist that was listening to you do your interview at the bay and was so impressed with you! Wow – what determination you have! Know you can do it with that confidence and skill you have! Go, Karen Mermaid!
Karen if you look at the web site “British Pathe” and enter San Francisco swim you will see old footage of Ted Eriksons swim and somewhere I saw a video of Col Stuarts swim. I read you will not use a neoprene cap . The bubble caps work very well as you may know and are better then the silicon or thin latex and they are still English Channel rules legal. Both Ted Erickson and Col. Stuart used them on their swims. Best of Luck.
